Giants/Bears The Bears are playing so well, that I expect them to go all the way to the Super Bowl before losing to the Dolphins or Raiders. First-time Super Bowl participants generally lose the first one when playing against a team with Super Bowl experience (exception: when they're playing the Vikes). Let's call this game Bears 24, Giants 14. Cowboys/Rams Dallas generally has trouble with the Rams in the playoffs. Rams will probably get two or three scores from turnovers and special teams. How 'bout Rams 30, Cowboys 20. Pats/Raiders Even though I'm a Raider fan, I'm not all that thrilled with the way they're playing. I expect this game to be close and low-scoring. NE generally plays the Raiders tough. (Remember the '76 playoff game in which the Raiders won on the blown pass-interference non-call on Phil Villapiano?) Let's go with NE 10, Raiders 7. Browns/Dolphins Do the Browns deserve to be in the playoffs? Does the AFC-Central deserve to be in the NFL? Dolphins 45, Browns 17. ----- Next round: I expect the winner of the Bears/Giants game to be in the Super Bowl. I expect the home team to win the AFC championship game, unless by some miracle the game is played in Cleveland. Steve Vegdahl Computer Research Lab. Tektronix, Inc. Beaverton, Oregon
