Lines: 19 The name of this show was/is "Dempsey and Makepeace" (sp?), and it is on ABC. It is still running in the Boston area on WCVB (Channel 5). WPIX (a New York independent) is also showing it about one week behind WCVB. If your local network affiliate has dropped the show write to them and complain! I do not know what night of the week it is on, as I never watch network TV live, (good old fast-forward button :-) ), but I think it is being shown by WCVB in a "local programming" slot. This does not mean much, as all the Boston network affiliates have a tendency to shuffle their own programs into prime-time slots and run the "bounced" network show at some other time/date. The show is made by London Weekend Television. This is the independent (as opposed to BBC) TV company that, as its name implies, provides weekend television in the London area (a different company provides coverage during the week). It is one of the better (or at least richer) companies, and has very strong ties with (or owns?) Euston Films, a company that makes made-for-TV "movies". The show itself is not bad, although it seems to ignore the fact that Dempsey would spend most of his time off duty waiting for the results of the inquiry into all the times he fired his gun (and he would NOT be allowed to use his own revolver). Apart from that I have only spotted one other glaring technical error in the whole season.
