Richie Brockelman was a spin-off of "Rockford". I think the pilot was the episode about Richie's father being ripped off, and he and Jim pull off a con with a proposed King Tut exhibit. Richie then got his own show, but was seen in several other Rockford episodes. The story with Suzanne Pleshette was probably the first solo Richie Brockelman episode. Then, again, I could be wrong...
