The official BBC directions that I have for the scarf don't specify how
long it should be except to note that "The tassels at each end of the
scarf are made of 1-foot lengths of wool".  As for Baker's scarf, it
was really two scarves.  The one used in interior shots was 14 feet and
the one used outdoors was 20 feet.
