I didn't watch as much of these soaps
on Christmas vacation as I thought I would
so I have some questions and speculations.

AMC

Giles was killed.  I turned on the set just as
someone (of course you couldn't tell who this was --
hat on, either dark glasses or a scarf or something
don't remember which, trench coat -- typical setup)
pushed Giles off a landing (I don't even know where
this happened).  On a previous episode, Tom kicked
Giles out of Brookes house. Tom came to deliver
a present to Laura from his parents and found Giles
drunk harassing Brooke.  So, is the killer Tom
(dum de dum dum).  

My own speculation is that the killer is the current
love interest of Giles French ex-girlfriend.
Sorry I don't know names.

There is also some storyline involving Erica
and her boyfriend's father.  (Egads, I can't
remember anyone's name!!)
He seems to want to get Erica to himself.

And what is going on with Greg, Robin and Tad?

OLTL

Laurel is dead.  I turned this on the day
of the funeral.  I think she was hit by a car
intentionally.  Can someone give an update of
this.
