The "height" parameter in the font descriptor apparently exists solely for the old-style font selection by attribute; it has no effect on actual vertical spacing. And the vertical-line-spacing control sequences think in 48ths of an inch, which is (a) bizarre, and (b) unsuited to exact specification of vertical spacing on a 300/inch printer. Looks like one would have to use cursor control to position lines properly with a font using an unusual line spacing. What an annoyance. (HP, are you listening?)
