That comment was made at a TOPS-10/20 gripe session 3 DECI (DECUSES?) ago where they pulled some poor VMS guy into the room with 5 minutes notice. The VMS developers have said many times at subsequent DECI that they are indeed adressing this issue. The poor response at the meeting in question is (was) more a result of poor planning on the part of the DEC LCG organization who organized the session than it was an indication of VMS development ignorance.
