   Bingo.  There is a DMF-32 h/w book.  The last appendix says the
strobe pin out for the parallel interface is pin 37.  Our local h/w
guy went fishing and found it to be pin 8.  A jumper proved the scope
was right; data came forth like a gentle spring rain.  Once the cable
is fixed we will have a real printer!
   Since no one has replied to my original query, I can't thank anyone.
Maybe this information will be useful to other sites, however.  Maybe
DEC will get the documentation fixed as well.  I have informed TSC of
the documentation error.  Hope it propagates to the right places.
