The 924S will be a 944 engine in a 924 body and will come into the US at arount $18000. The European and US versions of the engine will be identical, as with all future Porsche cars, in an attempt to squelch the gray market. Last year the US got 14000 944 cars and about 75000 300ZX cars, so Porsche is going after that market. The 924S will be a little faster than the normally-aspirated 944 but will not corner as well. The latter is heavier, and it has a larger frontal cross-section, primarily due to the fender flares. -- George Tomasevich, ihnp4!twitch!grt AT&T Bell Laboratories, Holmdel, NJ
