Does anyone know if I will pay an insurance penalty (higher premium for equal value vehicle) for either of those? If a truck costs more to insure than a van of the same value, or vice versa, it might influence my choice, and if a car would have lower premiums (premia?) than both, I might just forget the whole idea. Car insurance rates are high enough in New Jersey as it is. I checked with my insurance agent, and he refuse to answer the question, saying that unless I had a specific vehicle in mind (he needed the serial number) he couldn't give me even a ballpark quote. Thanks in advance for any information you can provide. .
