I have noticed that my gas mileage drops by 15-20% every winter (I own a 
1982 Honda Accord).  I have always attributed this to the colder temperature,
but I still don't understand exactly why it should have such a drastic effect
on my mileage.  If anyone can explain why this happens (and if there is any
way to avoid it) I'd like to know.
