(launch the line-eater into outer space)

There is a mavelous picture on the front cover of the Dec 23 issue of
Aviation Week and Space Technology (aka War Weekly).  It is a time
exposure of the launch of Atlantis (61-B).  You really get the notion
that they take off more horizontally than vertically (which is what
I had thought until I thought about it).
