Yup, the rumors are true. FF #293 will be his last issue. He declined to talk
about his reasons for leaving, and says that he now is entirely freelance.
The only new project mentioned is an adaptation of an unnamed science fiction
novel for WaRP, which depends on their getting rights for the novel.
Byrne will also be plotting FF 294 and 295, which will be written by Roger
Stern.
