(The strainer, not the pasta) Message-ID: <686@ttrdc.UUCP> Date: Tue, 21-Jan-86 01:17:18 EST Article-I.D.: ttrdc.686 Posted: Tue Jan 21 01:17:18 1986 Date-Received: Wed, 22-Jan-86 04:39:22 EST Organization: AT&T, Computer Systems Division, Skokie, IL Lines: 27 *** REPLACE THIS LINE WITH YOUR MACARONI *** I wish to make an inquiry of the cooks and chefs of the Net as to whether they have ever encountered a flat pasta strainer (the strainer is flat, not the pasta!) of the kind which is held against the top of a pot to allow the water to be poured off without losing the pasta? Lonnng ago I had such a tool (it got munged in the dishwasher :-( ) that was semicircular and had a lip which braced it against the side of the pot. Now I have searched high and low for another such strainer and the best I have been able to find is a cheap wooden one (the holes have splinters in them, yet!). I have seen the large screens on a hoop on a handle and while they might do in a pinch, they are large and not much easier to clean than a colander (one of the reasons I wish to get away from the colander method of straining). If anybody knows where one might be had in the Chicago area, or mail ordered, I would greatly appreciate any suggestions. Replies will be gratefully acknowledged. Thanx in advance. --Dan-- -- ------------------------------- Disclaimer: The views contained herein are | dan levy | yvel nad | my own and are not at all those of my em- | an engihacker @ | ployer or the administrator of any computer | at&t computer systems division | upon which I may hack. | skokie, illinois | -------------------------------- Path: ..!ihnp4!ttrdc!levy
