Here is a brief description of the two modes. (1) The file "bibtex-mode.el" can be used to create .bib files. (2) The file "tex-mode.el" is the TeX interface that bootstraps the following files. (3) The file "tex-misc.el" contains miscellaneous TeX supporting functions such as TeX/LaTeX/SliTeX execution, error positioning, LaTeX/SliTeX environment opening and closing, dollar sign balancing, ..., etc. (4) The file "tex-bib.el" is an interface to BibTeX for entry lookups and actual/symbolic substitutions. The lookup facility works for both TeX and LaTeX documents. The substitution facility can be used as a bibliography preprocessor for plain TeX documents. When used for LaTeX documents, the substitution facility effectively cuts down the ``latex->bibtex->latex->latex'' process to just the last two. (5) The file "tex-spell.el" is a spelling checking facility. Other software in the package include a TeX DVI previewer, a PXL font editor, and fonts, for the SUN workstation.
