Our site was isolated from the net just after the great GNUmacs
display manager controversy.  Subsequently, I obtained a tape
of GNUmacs 16.56 from rms, but have not had time to do much
with it besides pass it on to a couple of other sites.

If anyone has a brief summary of GNUmacs happenings since 16.56,
I would appreciate hearing from you directly.  If anyone has a
digest of relevant articles, this would also be interesting (by pre-arrangement
to prevent redundancy).

Any other news on the GNU effort would also be appreciated.
