To protect your helmet from rust monsters: take off all armor except
the helmet; quaff a potion of confusion; read a scroll of enchant
armor.  Your helmet will glow silver, and will thereafter be rustproof,
unaffected by rust monsters or acid blobs.

The same trick works with other armor, and the analog works with
weapons and a scroll of enchant weapon.  This is useful if you're the
sort of oaf who wanders into acid blobs without looking and don't like
seeing your crysknife corrode.
