Summary: A simple trick to get around shopkeepers

For people who are just starting and want to rip off a shopkeeper.
If you kill and eat a Leprachaun, you will start randomly teleporting.
Enter a shop, collect everything you desire and wait until you are randomly
teleported.  Warning you will many times lose your dog this way and you
will continue to randomly teleport the rest of that game.  If you have
a ring of teleport control this is no problem, otherwise it is a nuisance
but not a very large one.
