My reason for asking is to upgrade and "solid-state-ify" an old RT70-GRC 50Mhz radio. If I knew more about the complexities of tube circuits, I would venture to try replacing the tubes with FETs or chips and running the whole mess off of a lower voltage. I know -- "Why don't you just buy a new radio?" 'Cause it's built like a tank and has nostalgic value. Gary
