I am interested in finding employment in England next fall, in some 
computer related postition.

Friends of mine at Cambridge University have indicated that there may be
problems getting a work permit.  I am interested in any advice net-landers
might have with regard to getting a work permit, and/or the best strategies
for finding a job in England.  I am not concerned with the job specifics, as
I am mostly interested in taking a break from academia.  I have had experience
with Pascal, C, Basic, and Assembly Language (8080,PDP-11, 68k) and worked
with several commercial spreadsheets, wordprocessors and database packages.
