This reminds me of something I saw in a video game once:

    [ Player slowly drivers her ship into an enemy ( from behind,
      where it couldn't see her ), and dies ]

    Observer: What where you trying to do?
    Player:   I was trying to see how close I could get before I hit it
    Observer: You got real close there just before you hit it!
