In a class once I read about an experiment done at a city bus system. They computed the drivers` biorythms, then warned them on their low days. In other words, they chose some days at random and told the drivers that on these days they were more likely to be accident-prone. The number of accidents dropped. Anlogous to the placebo effect, I guess. I suspect the "baby on board" signs would have a similar effect.
