Hopefully more helpful is that some UNIX installations are using such a translator to convert the TeX source from PASCAL to C. TeX is the famous computer typesetting system by D.E.Knuth of Stanford University. There is a newsletter ('TUGboat') published irregularly by the American Mathematical Society. Unfortunately, I do not receive it myself. If my memory is still intact, number 3 of 1985 is a good candidate to have more details. Please don't blame me if it is an earlier issue.
