I am in the final throes of reviewing the *sendmail* documentation to adjust some site-specific things before we begin to ship it with a network product. In the course of reading the *Sendmail Installation and Operation Guide*, I found a comment that leaves me puzzled. This is in Section 5.3.3 (Relevant Issues) where the tie-in with RFCs 819 and 822 is discussed. At the end of the section is a sentence that reads: Beware when reading RFC 819 that there are a number of errors in it. Now, keeping in mind that RFC 819 discusses domain-based addressing, what are the errors (or have they been corrected)? I find it rather difficult to believe that it would have been released if it contained errors. Help! Helen Anne {ihnp4,cbosgd,hplabs,decwrl,ucbvax,sun}!dual!hav /* This is a disclaimer.
