I believe you can read more in The 'C' Programming Language. uuuuhhhh..... My book on BCPL says it stands for Basic CPL. It doesn't say much about CPL except it was invented at some british university. Other than that, you are pretty much correct. Enough so that nobody knows for sure which comes after C++, D or P.
