TO ALL WHO REPLIED TO MY INITIAL 1541 DISK POSTING

Thanks to everyone who took the time to supply information about
modification of my 1541 disk drive. All the procedures that I received
were exactly what I had been looking for.

Following the directions led me right to the "jumpers" for the device
number assignment. I scraped the front one, put the drive back
together and SHAZAM!, worked like a champ.

Several people indicated they had installed switches external to the
drive unit so they would be able to manually change the drive
number-sounds like a good idea-that will be my next project.

Again, many thanks for the help; hope maybe one of these days I will
be able to offer some helpful advice.
