Cardco makes a bus extender that lets you plug in a few cartridges at once.
There are switches on  it to enable any cart you want.  It costs a few $$,
but works fine.

I have reverse engineered the FastLoad cartridge and can give details of
how it works (if I get enough E-Mail requests, I will post a bunch of
details).
