My finder 4.1 has a ChoosePrinter DA, with 1.5 in small print in the
lower right hand corner.

My LaserWriter installation disk installs a ChoosePrinter DA, seems
to be "1.1".  1.5 seems to work better than 1.1, but other than that,
I can't seem much of a difference.

Is anyone aware of any substantive differences between the two?  Is
there a newer one that's even better?

Also, where does it store this information?  In particular, if
I choose a laserwriter, it knows that.  But if I try to run a
program that prints (without re-running ChoosePrinter) and
my printer isn't named "LaserWriter", I get an error "Can't
find LaserWriter"--even if the printer is out there.
