Summary: How does performance of HD20 & + compare to internal drive

    I'm planning on buying a Mac+ as soon as they arrive here (that's
early Feb.) and am interested in information regarding performance
of the Mac+ when used with the HD20, as compared with an old Mac
and a Hyperdrive (or Warp).  According to my dealer,
the new ROM code allows a "tremendous performance improvement"
in the HD20 "because on the smart code the drive contains" (?).  Is
this just due to cacheing?  My impression was the the 
Hyperdrive won over external drives by beating
the IO transfer constraints on the external ports.  If this is so,
it's not clear how the HD20 can ever make up for it, smarts or no.
