To do this I need the MS-file file format. Is this public or did somebody figure it out? If yes could somebody send me the description? This MS-file read problem makes me wonder though. The file is 300k big. The disks whirrs a long time before the error alert-box appears (with only a OK button ofcourse). This, probably, means that MS-file reads nearly the whole file until it (or the OS) hits an error. In stead of asking to continue with a damaged file it aborts the read. There you're stuck; a 300k file with probably 299.999k of valid data, because of a flipped bit in the last byte, but worthless because you can't read it. Is this the kind of error recovery generally used in Mac programs? Hans Mulder ARPA: hans@shasta.arpa UUCP: {decwrl, hplabs, pyramid, pyrcorp, sun}!shasta!hans (I think)
