The VME/10 system initializes the disk in what they call 'IBM format'. I have been successfull in that I can read and write double density, single or double sided. I cannot read or write single density. Andromeda Systems sells a controller that looks like a DEC RX50 controller, but will handle more formats (not single density). They also make a controller that fits on a 18-bit Q bus (not a 22 bit) that will read and write in just about any format. The 18-bit Q bus card does not emulate anything DEC sells, so you have to write your own driver. The controller that looks like the DEC RX50 controller is a 'UDC11'. It also handles winchesters. The 18-bit Q bus card is called a 'DMDC11' or 'DFDC11'. Andromeda Systems can be reached at: Andromeda Systems 9000 Eton Avenue Canoga Park, Ca 91304 (818) 709-7600 I hope this helps.
