Odd. The "honor system" is common on many European local transit systems, especially the German, Austrian, and Hungarian systems. The principal is that they have ticket inspections every once in a blue moon, but if you are caught without a valid ticket, there is a VERY heavy fine (enough to compensate for all the times you didn't pay). . ------- |-----| A.
