The Washington Metro card did not work in Bart faregates. On this note... A friend of mine asked me to mail him a bart card. I did, and he did some work with magnetic tape developer on it. He next asked for a card on which there had been an entry, but no exit. I couldn't think of any good way to get one (that I was willing to try) so the project stopped there.
