I'm new to net.rec.photo, so I hope this question wasn't asked too 
recently:

Can some of you recommend a 35mm camera?  (A rhetorical question, I 
guess.)  I don't know much about the details of photography, but I 
would like to take some pictures more interesting than just family, 
friends, etc, i.e., I'd like something with manual controls in 
addition, perhaps, to some automatic features.  I don't want to spend 
over 200 dollars.

Recommendations?  I've heard Ricoh, though mostly unadvertised, makes 
a pretty good line of cameras (supposedly they make all their own 
parts).
