So far, the best I've been able to come up with >is to put a "sanding sealer" on them and then 2 or 3 coats of clear >polyurethane. I refinished my birch plywood cabinets a year ago. I had good luck using tung oil for dressers, tables, etc, so I decided to use it on the cabinets. I love the look, a nice dull shine, looks very natural. I've left water glasses on my dresser and the rings dissappear ! It's been wonderful on the cabinets, scratches don't show. I have scratched, them but I simply touch up with stain and more oil. Since it soaks into the wood it does have to be reapplied say once a year to start and probably less often after several years. I clean up with Murphy's oil soap, when they need it. The best part is that it's soooo easy !!! Karen Curran
