New Scientist ran a contest for the most revoltingly titled scientific paper. The winning paper (submitted to New Scientist by Steve Archibald of the University of Dundee) appeared in "Experientia", a Japanese journal. The title was "A new method of measuring functional recovery after crushing the peripheral nerves in unanaesthetised and unrestrained rats." The author(s) of the winning paper were not announced.
