I find it interesting that so many people find it hard to be alone. I often find it easier to be alone than to be with people. I find that I have to work very hard to interact with some people, especially those who have very rigid (and unarticlated) expectations of me. Such people are easily and frequently hurt or offended, and my awareness of this aspect of their personality causes me to walk on eggshells in their presence. I much prefer the company of someone who is flexible, mature, and philosophical about the peckadillos of life. Unfortunately, such people are few and far between. I do enjoy many of the people on the net, because more of them seem to have this desirable (to me) trait. I enjoy the many opportunities for consciousness-raising found in the more enlightened discussions on the net. That reminds me. We haven't heard from Elaine Richards in a while. Her postings are most refreshing. I hope she is still tuned in. --Barry Kort
