On the other hand, the overall revenue would probably be greater because the games in the first place team's arena would probably be better attended, since in general interest tends to be higher in the cities with the better teams. So, if the 4th place team could share some of the profits from the games, I think it's idea they might just go for. This is far from being my favourite alternative playoff method, but I think it's the one that would be most likely to be accepted, so I'm all for it.
