I think that the first two teams in the division should be allowed to make the playoffs (only). It would make the regular season that much better, and if there would be more at stake, the teams would play harder all year. A talented team couldn't coast all year like the Islanders did a few seasons back (they still won the Stanley Cup). Being in Chicago stadium, I had never realized how much a loud crowd could affect the outcome of a game until I watched the Bears play the Dolphins in the Orange Bowl. I guess Miami football is like Chicago hockey. The newspaper coverage of hockey here in Chicago is marginal at best. The T.V. stations are worse.
