It is a raft trip down the Colorado river in the Grand Canyon. Most river expeditions take 7-9 days (21 or so if you wish to do it by oar boat) and cost around $1200 excluding air fare to Las Vegas (the usual starting point). Every day on the river involves going some 20 -30 river miles through exhilarating rapids, hikes in side canyons, sleeping in the open air on "sand banks" beside the river and a surfeit of UNUSUAL sights.
