Lift the cap and watch the points when you crank it over. If the points are opening and closing, make sure you have voltage present at the points when they are open. If you don't have voltage (12V, 6V, whatever the battery is), disconnect the condensor. It may be shorted. If voltage appears when the capacitor is disconnected replace it. If you still don't have voltage, problem would be in the wiring. Run a "hot" wire (temporarily, of course -- you want to know if it'll run) from the battery to the points side of the coil.
