U.C. San Diego Lines: 13 Keywords: Jed, Heckeled Members of the Coalition for a Free South Africa again demonstrated their ability to deny a law abiding citizen of his First Amendment. A harmless evangelist known as Brother Jed was continually heckled, and later forcefully assaulted while speaking at UCSD on January 23. Denying an individual of his right to express himself in public is one of the worst displays of behavior that has become typical and expected from these mannerless throwbacks. -- "California Review" February 1986
