The estimated cost of a new orbiter is 2.2 billion.  CBS reported that
Challenger originally cost 1.2 billion.  The 2.2 billion figure is the
Rockwell estimate published in Wednesday's Wall Street Journal.  It was
also estimated that the replacement would take 2-4 years to complete
after the order was received.
