As an American currently living in Europe, I find statements such as this almost painfully embarrassing. When one compares the health care system in Europe, the support for housewifes and children, and so on and on to the social programs in the United States, it is sadly all to clear how poor a job America does of ``taking care of its own''. --tim budd
