I have <finally!> landed a business trip to a warm climate, and of course
plan to take a little vacation time around it to go riding.  In particular,
I'm planning to ride from Phoenix to San Diego and back during the final
two weeks of March.  What kind of weather can I expect in this area that
time of year?  Is it the rainy season in the desert (every other time I've
gone riding in Arizona it has been)?  Are there any snowed-in mountain passes
between Phoenix and S. D?  What kind of temperatures can I expect?

Please reply by regular mail, since this probably isn't an immediately
fascinating subject to everyone on the net.  While you're at it, feel
free to recommend any good one-or-two day trips in the S. D.-L. A. area,
since most of my previous visits to California have been up in the
Bay area.
