Reading) Distribution: net.emacs Organization: Univ of Utah CS Dept Lines: 25 I am on a sun work station running 4.2 UNIX and sun release 2.2 . What I would like to do is start a shelltool up and then rlogin to a vax. Once there I would like to run Gosling's emacs. My trouble is that I do not have any mouse support on the remote system because shelltool traps all the mouse movements and button motions to do selection in the current window. Now before I reinvent the wheel, I would like to know if anyone as a written a shell which takes no action on the mouse buttons. I think if the mouse emissions are sent to the remote host the gemacs over there could handle the support. Maybe someone could also tell me what would happen if I had the sun window handling code compile into the gemacs on the remote system. If anyone wants to know why I don't just run gemacs on the sun. Well, I love the suntools enviroment, but lets face a VAX 8600 is a hell of a lot faser then a 68000. ------------ Thanks for you time, Dan Reading
