No.  A scroll of taming is the only scroll that would not give you any messages
when it is read; it just sez 'the scroll vanishes'.  When you read it, any
monsters standing on a square next to you will immediate become tame and fight
for you. ( I just tamed a cockatrice last night )  When you are confused
when you read it, it will tame all monsters up to 5 spaces away from you.
