No, the show you refer to is "Arnie," a real black comedy series of
the late 60's, which starred Herschel Bernardi, who looks almost
exactly like Herb Edelman.

That, by the way, is why the Herb Edelman question haunted me so. I
KNEW I had seen him before, but I also knew it wasn't in "Arnie."
