For example, our fire department has three sets of call letters: KGE609 -- Base station only at station #1 KIT823 -- Base station only at station #2 KC7766 -- All mobiles and portables at both stations. This was required because the licensee name is the same on all licenses. Mobile-only licenses issued recently have five digits instead of four, and I can't remember offhand whether there are two, three, or four letters in front.
