The main character, the kid, can't fly unless rock music is playing. He gets into a simulator and practices dog fights against some mig-25's. The song is playing in the background and he is fighting. The reason the "fried chicken" lyric is in the film is because (I think) right when he gets killed by the simulated Russians the song says "Fried Chicken."
